THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Walking to honour Murdered and Missing Aboriginal Women, dedicated walkers from Mishkeegogamang are headed to Thunder Bay. On the Trans-Canada Highway, east of Thunder Bay, weather is not making an impact on the journey.

Wet conditions, including a chilling rain have not slowed the walkers.

NetNewsLedger met up with the walkers today just east of Ignace.

Chief Isadore Day, who is seeking the responsibility of the position of Ontario Regional Chief, met with the walkers. “Among these walkers, there are grandmothers, aunts, fathers, and children. What this particular walk signifies are that families are working together to solve the tragedies that surround Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women.”

“I commend those families and the leadership of Mishkeegogamang in their efforts,” added Chief Day.
