Crews Fight Wild Fire Near Stanley West of Thunder Bay

THUNDER BAY – FIRE REPORT – UPDATE – Fire is now under control.

Dry conditions have led to a fire near Stanley. This evening water bombers, fire crews and OPP officers are on site fighting the fire. Currently the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is listing the cause as human, and that the fire is not under control.

Residents across Thunder Bay have reported water bombers flying over their homes as other residents have watched the fire crews loading their aircraft with water from Lake Superior.

There is no word on possible evacuations as a result of the fire.

The fire conditions in the region are rated from Moderate to High.
