WAWA – CRIME NEWS – On Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at approximately 1:10aPM EDT, uniformed members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Wawa Detachment responded to a local business regarding a disturbance. At the scene police spoke to three individuals who had sustained serious injuries from an altercation.
The victims were all transported to the local hospital where they were treated for their injuries.
Further investigation led to a suspect being arrested in relation to this incident. The accused, a Kashechewan First Nation man, has been charged with the following offences:
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm contrary to section 267(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada (three counts); and with
- Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking given by an officer in charge contrary to section 145(5.1) of theCC (two counts).
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in on April 30, 2015.
