KENORA – CRIMENEWS – Uniformed members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a vehicle stop on Highway 17A around 10:00AM CDT on Tuesday April 28, 2015. The OPP police investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver and passenger and a search of the vehicle.
With the assistance of the Kenora K9 Unit, officers located approximately 3.5 pounds of Marijuana in the vehicle.
The drugs have an estimated street value of approximately $7,500. As a result of this investigation, twnety-six-year old Maxwell Likun and twenty-eight-year old Rodney Carson, both of Thunder Bay have been charged with Trafficking of a Schedule II Substance (Marijuana) contrary to section 5(1) of the Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA) and Possession of a Schedule II Substance (marihuana) for the Purpose of Trafficking section 5(2) CDSA.
Both are to appear in Kenora Court on June 18, 2015 to answer to the charge.
