Thunder Bay Police Make Quick Arrest in Hydro Break In

Thunder Bay PoliceTHUNDER BAY – Police report that Thunder Bay Hydro personnel contacted them at 12:41AM this morning to report a break and enter in progress at a maintenance yard on Front Street.

Thunder Bay Police uniformed officers stopped the suspected vehicle on the Marina Park overpass and located a large quantity of copper wire in the vehicle. The three occupants were arrested at 1:00 a.m. and escorted to the Balmoral Police Station.

Arrest and Charges

The twenty-one-year old female driver was charged with Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000. The thirty-five-year old male occupant and twenty-three-year old male occupant have been charged with Break & Enter, Possession of Break & Enter Instruments and Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000.

All three have been released with future court dates.

Thunder Bay Police advise that “Names can not be released until the Information can be sworn to in court and that could take a few days. The suspect were released on Promise to Appear documents by the Officer in Charge. This is because they meet the threshold to be released as per the Criminal Code of Canada.”
