Thunder Bay Police Cyber Crime Unit Makes Child Porn Arrest

Thunder Bay PoliceTHUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Police Cyber Crime Unit received a referral form the Provincial Strategy on Child Pornography in February 2015.

A preliminary investigation resulted in a search warrant being executed on a residence in the 200 block of Mary Street East on April 21, 2015.

As a result of the search, officers arrested the occupant of the residence just before 9:30AM on April 21, 2015.

Officers also seized a laptop, two smart phones and thirteen USB sticks for further examination.

John David Cornell, a forty-nine-year old has been charged with Possession of Child Pornography and Make Available Child Pornography.

He appeared in court today and has been release with a May 5, 2015 court date.
