Police Investigate Death in Dryden

DRYDEN – The Ontario Provincial Police and Dryden Police are investigating a death.

On Saturday morning, Dryden Police Services arrived at the Patricia Inn and found Travis Scott Herbert who was unresponsive and being treated by patrons and staff.

Emergency Medical Service medics transported Herbert to the Dryden Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Travis Scott Herbert was the son of Dryden’s former fire chief, Darryl Herbert, and his wife Patty.

The Dryden Police Service requested the Ontario Provincial Police Northwest Region crime unit to assist in the investigation of the circumstances surrounding incident.

Herbert will undergo a post-mortem which has been scheduled for Toronto.

Have not revealed the cause of death in a media release that was issued Saturday night.

The OPP and the Dryden Police Service are requesting anyone who was at the Patricia Inn on Friday night or early Saturday morning with any information which can assist their efforts to contact them at 807-223-3281 or the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
