OPP Ontario Provincial PoliceWAWA – NEWS – On March 27, 2015, at approximately 8:33AM, members of the Superior East Wawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a collision in the town of Wawa involving a passenger vehicle and a school bus.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the school bus was travelling northbound on Regina Crescent when the driver failed to yield at the controlled intersection colliding with an eastbound vehicle.

The passenger in the vehicle sustained minor injuries and was later transported to hospital by his parent.

All 13 passengers in the school bus were uninjured.

The driver of the school bus, Wallace EAST (65) of Wawa was charged with the following offence;

  • Fail to Yield- Yield Sign contrary to section 138(1) of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

Investigation into this collision is ongoing.
