Weather AlertTHUNDER BAY – WEATHER – The is a heavy snowfall warning in effect for Longlac, Geraldton, Manitowadge and Hornpayne.

Snowfall warning in effect for:

  • Geraldton – Longlac – Caramat
  • Manitouwadge – Hornepayne

A long period of snowfall, with total amounts of 15 to 25 cm expected.

A slow-moving disturbance currently near Lake Superior will continue to work its way eastwards over Northeastern Ontario through Saturday. Periods of snow, at times heavy, has settled into a swath from North of Superior and eastwards towards Timmins and Timiskaming. Total accumulations of 15 to 20 cm is likely for many regions under the warning although closer to 20 or 25 cm is likely around Timiskaming. It is expected to taper off North of Superior Saturday morning and near the Quebec border Saturday night.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
