Thick Ice on Great Lakes Winter 2015

THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – The extended cold weather across Ontario is impacting the Great Lakes.

Ice coverage on the Great Lakes continues to grow.

The depth of ice is likely to impact the start of the shipping season for the Port of Thunder Bay. The same conditions were faced last year. The delays however did not impact what was a very busy season at the port.

The cold weather through February has continued making the depth of ice thicker.
