THUNDER BAY – SPORTS- Seven provincial level athletes from Ultimate Gymnastics are gearing up to head to Ottawa on Friday, February 27th for their 3rd and final Gymnastics Ontario Provincial Qualifier of the season, with hopes pinned on earning a spot in the Provincial Championships.

The Provincial Championships will be held in Windsor, Ontario at the University of Windsor’s St. Denis Centre, April 9th through the 12th.

The club, coming off a very successful qualifier in Bracebridge earlier this month with a total haul of 17 medals and 31 awards, currently sees all seven of its provincial athletes in qualifying positions in their respective age and level categories, with two athletes also sitting in a position to qualify to compete in individual event finals.

Ultimate Gymnastics will also take part in the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce Central Canada Outdoor & Recreation Show this coming weekend at the Sports Dome. Several of the clubs younger athletes will be showcasing their talents at the show, with demonstrations Friday, February 27th at 6pm and Sunday, March 1 at 2pm. Event attendees will have the opportunity to win one of 2 recreational program sessions.
