Thunder Bay Police Report Two Dead in Oliver Road Crash

Thunder Bay PoliceTHUNDER BAY – Two of the people injured in a two vehicle collision on Oliver Road that happened Friday night have died. Thunder Bay Police report, “At about 9 p.m. Friday evening Police, Fire and EMS responded to a dramatic two car collision on Oliver Road between Highgate Road and Burns Road”.

When they arrived at the crash scene, police officers found a Honda Civic had been massively damaged in an approaching to side impact type collision. The second vehicle, a Ford Escape, although destroyed, was not as seriously damaged. Initial indications are that one driver had lost control of the vehicle prior to impact.

A 22 year old female and a 22 year old male occupant of the Honda were both fatally injured in the crash.

They were both transported with best efforts by EMS to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Center but without success.

Police are still working to notify family and expect some delays.

A 62 year old female driver of the Ford was also transported to hospital with minor injuries.

Police had Oliver Road closed for a number of hours while working to do collision reconstruction work but it has since been reopened.
