Valentines Day Robbery Busted Fast by Thunder Bay Police

Thunder Bay PoliceTHUNDER BAY – Speedy work by the Thunder Bay Police resulted in arrests after a robbery at a Shoppers Drug Mart on Red River Road.

Police report that a woman, who was using what appeared to be a semi-automatic handgun entered the Shopper’s Drug Mart location and demanded cash from the cashier. The woman made her way out of the store with an undisclosed amount of money.

She reportedly fled the scene in a passenger van just before 9:00PM on Saturday.

Thunder Bay Police were able to quickly locate the van at a residence on the North-Side of the city. Officers arrested several people. A replica handgun was also recovered.

There were no reported physical injuries, and the investigation is continuing.

It has been an overall normal weekend for Thunder Bay Police.

Leading the crime docket was Quality of Life calls. Twenty-seven calls, including sixteen calls that were alcohol related topped the list.

Cold weather and snow on Friday kept police busy dealing with 44 traffic incidents.
