New England Gets 2nd Straight Winter Wallop by associatedpress
BOSTON – WEATHER – Winter Storm Linus isn’t pushing Peanuts at the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. The blizzard is forecast to dump snow in amounts of up to 12 inches on snow weary regions of the Eastern Seaboard.
The winter storm blew through Chicago over the weekend dumping up to a foot of snow on the city and snarling travel. Hundreds of flights were cancelled at O’Hare International Airport.
Detroit received just over a foot of snow, breaking a snowfall record that went back to 1881.
The storm is now taking aim at Boston and New England with freezing rain, sleet, and snow.
Air travel has been seriously impacted. Hundreds of flights have already been cancelled.
The normally busy skies over New York, Boston and the eastern United States are very quiet.
Road travel is also being impacted.
Schools and many offices are closed today.
