THUNDER BAY – For a third consecutive year the Thunder Bay Manshield Construction bantam A Queens have given back to the community by supporting the Underground Gym & Youth Centre.
Organized by bantam A Queens’ head coach Neal Stubbs, along with the players and the rest of the coaching staff, the team had organized a food drive for the Underground Gym to help support this worthwhile endeavour.
The Queens recently presented Peter Panetta of the Underground Gym over 500 food items as well as $500 in cash donations that were raised as part of the project.
The Underground Gym & Youth Centre provides FREE ACCESS to multiple activities & meals for youth in need, four to 17+ years (co-ed) and is dedicated to promoting and teaching fitness, healthy lifestyles, self-confidence and self-respect.
“The girls get so much from helping others kids in need,” said Stubbs.
“Peter Panetta and the Underground Gym & Youth Centre does a wonderful job helping out our youth and we are pleased to play a small role in helping them succeed,” added Stubbs.
The Queens would also like to thank Touch Unwired for donating prizes to the team as a way to promote the food drive.
