EDMONTON – NEWS – RCMP Constable David Matthew Wynn died a short time ago in an Edmonton hospital, at the age of 42 years. Cst. Wynn never regained consciousness after being shot by a suspect in St. Albert on Saturday morning.
In a statement issued by the RCMP, “His death comes as a great loss to the RCMP, and especially to his colleagues at St. Albert Detachment, where he worked since his graduation from Depot in 2009.
“Today, the RCMP lost a dedicated member in the line of duty, his wife lost a husband, and his sons lost a father, said Deputy Commissioner Marianne Ryan, Commanding Officer of the RCMP in Alberta. Words cannot express the deep sadness we feel today”.
Cst. Wynn is survived by his wife Shelly and three sons Matthew, Nathan and Alexander. The family lives in St. Albert. We ask that reporters respect their privacy during this difficult time.
