RCMP Shooting Suspect Located in St Albert

RCMP, Thunder Bay PoliceEDMONTON – RCMP UPDATE – The suspect who shot two RCMP officers earlier this morning in a St. Albert casino has been located. The police are not in a position to release his identity at this time. That information will be forthcoming as the investigation continues. There is no longer any public safety threat related to this incident.

RCMP have confirmed that the suspect is now in custody – 13:00MST

Although the suspect has been located, police are asking the public to avoid the area southeast of the Sturgeon Valley Golf Course until further notice. The police investigation is still underway at the casino where the shootings took and police ask the public to stay away from that location as well.

The RCMP would like to thank the public for the messages and support we have received on the part of the wounded officers and their families.
