Thunder Bay PoliceTHUNDER BAY – An accident at the intersection of James Street and Arthur Street put commuters into a delay pattern for getting home last night.

Thunder Bay Police report it was “A rather dramatic smash-up in the intersection of Arthur St and James St just before 4:00PM EST. Traffic was a bit of a zoo for the hour that it took for them to sort things out and get everyone moving again”.

An 18 year old female driver of an eastbound blue Ford pick-up truck ran a red light and came into collision with a southbound black Ford pick-up truck in the middle of the intersection. The black truck was then propelled into a stopped Lincoln SUV.

All three vehicles were heavily damaged and were towed away.

The female driver has been charged with failing to stop for a red light.
