THUNDER BAY – SPORTS – The Haywood NorAm World Junior/U23 Trials races wrapped up today with a freestyle interval start race. After this race the team to represent Canada will be selected based on results from the weekend.

NDC Thunder Bay’s David Askwith continued with his strong results finishing 4th in the 10 km race.

Fellow rookie, Sam Greer, also finished in the top 10, placing 9th. In the Senior Men’s race, Andy Shields was the top Thunder Bay skier finishing 5th in the 15 km race.

Evan Palmer-Charrette also continued a strong weekend finishing 11th overall, but in the top 5 of the U23 category. Sadie White continued to improve her weekend finishing it off with an 8th place in the Junior Women’s 5 km event.

NDC’s lone Senior Woman racing today, Alannah MacLean, finished 11th in her 10 km race. After reviewing the results Cross Country Canada will announce the contingency that will join NDC Thunder Bay Head Coach, Timo Puiras, at the Junior/U23 World Championships.
