THUNDER BAY – CRIME – Ontario’s Special Investigation Unit is looking into the arrest of a man in Thunder Bay.
Thunder Bay Police Service report, “A twenty-nine-year old Thunder Bay man was arrested for an alleged Break and Enter into a John Street residence on January 3rd, 2015.
Just before 1:00AM EST, Police say that, “A suspicious male was observed on the property of the residence and a 63 year old male who worked in a nearby business went to check on the situation. Plain clothed officers that happened to be in vicinity were alerted by another staff member”.
Officers went to the residence to investigate and discovered the 63 year old man being assaulted outside the residence. The officers arrested a 29 year old male after a struggle.
The 63 year old male victim of the assault was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the assault.
Twenty-nine-year old Tyson Stanley Spence has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Resist Arrest, Break & Enter and Breach of Probation. The male has been remanded into custody with a January 8, 2015 court date.
The Special Investigation Unit has invoked their mandate to investigate injuries sustained by the accused in this incident. Further information about this incident will be released at the discretion of the S.I.U.
