Thunderwolves Fighting Hard against UMD Bulldogs
THUNDER BAY – Sports – The University of Minnesota at Duluth (UMD) Bulldogs are taking it to the Lakehead University Thunderwolves tonight before a crowd of about 2000 fans at Fort William Gardens.
The Bulldogs got off to a slow start but by midway through the second period were up by a 5-0 score.
The Thunderwolves got off to a fast start in the first period taking a 6-0 lead on shots on goal.
However the Bulldogs took early control.
The game, sponsored by Crimestoppers is part pf a two game series of exhibition games.
Last night’s game went into overtime before the Bulldogs put the game away with less than a second left in the game.
Tonight’s game is not as close on the scoreboard.
The wolves started battling back in the third period. The home town crowd started to cheer started by a group of young never-say die young fans.
The Twolves closed the goal gap with the Bulldogs battling in defence mode.
Shots on goal with 8:00 minutes left are 39 for UMD and 25 for Lakehead.
Final score 8-4 for UMD over the Thunderwolves.
