THUNDER BAY – LIVING – Thunder Bay Transit riders will have a new way to find out when the bus is coming. Thunder Bay Transit is changing to Nextlift.ca a new online application that will tell you when the next bus is coming to a stop near you.

All you have to do is go to www.nextlift.ca and enter the stop or location you are at.

The GPS controlled program will then tell you when the bus is coming.

Transit states, “We have completely replaced our onboard real-time prediction equipment to provide you with very accurate bus arrival information. A beta (basic) version of the website has been launched at www.nextlift.ca and the full version of the mobile and desktop site will arrive in March 2015”.

The new version will include searching of stops by trip, route, and number, will provide you with live service updates from our dispatch, and integrate seamlessly into Google Maps. (yes, real-time schedules will be included into your trip plan on Google Maps!)

The previous NextBus tool will expire on December 31, 2014. Replacement passenger information screens throughout the city will be replaced in the coming weeks.

As this is a beta tool, please send any bugs you may find to transit@thunderbay.ca

Thunder Bay Transit is running on its holiday schedule for Christmas, Boxing Day, and January 1st 2015.
