THUNDER BAY – Ontario Hydro One report that as of 07:00AM EST there are 31,000 customers who are without power on Christmas morning. Strong winds in Southern Ontario are behind the outages.

The power should, according to Hydro One be restored today. Most places are expecting a return of hydro by noon, and others are later in the day.

Check the Hydro One online report for more information www.hydroone.com/StormCenter3.

The low pressure system that caused the wind warnings that generated the power outages has now moved on into Quebec.

Weather wise for most of Ontario except for the Timmins region where there are snowfall warnings in effect and the extreme eastern reaches of Ontario where there are wind warnings in effect the weather is mild and far warmer than the usual Christmas Day conditions.
