THUNDER BAY – In recognition of health and safety excellence, workers at Resolute Forest Products earned $15,000 in donations that were made to local charities just in time for Christmas.
For every 250,000 of injury-free hours worked, the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) earns $5,000 donated to a charity of their choice courtesy of the management team at Resolute Forest Products. In 2014, workers banked a total of 750,000 injury-free hours, an impressive achievement which allowed them to donate $10,000 to the Regional Food Distribution Association (RFDA) of Northwestern Ontario and $5,000 to Camp Quality Northwestern Ontario.
The two charities accepted their cheques just in time for the holidays and both expressed their incredible gratitude for the support. Lots of families in need and lots of children with cancer will have smiles on their faces because of Resolute this season. Thank you!
