THUNDER BAY – CRIME REPORT – Thunder Bay Police have been busy. Over the past 48 hours, Police have dealt with 125 calls for service over the past 48 hours. Topping the list were Quality of Life calls. There were fifty calls for service from police. That included twenty-nine calls that were alcohol related.
Police dealt with two weapons offences, and five break and enters.
Additionally there were six assaults reported to police.
The new style of Thunder Bay Police Service RIDE program also nabbed a couple of drivers on Friday. Police report, “Something Was All Lit Up At 1:30 in the afternoon, and it wasn’t a Christmas tree.
Officers running a mid day RIDE had two drivers in custody within a half hour Friday. One tried bluffing and found himself in custody for obstructing the officer. Big surprise… suspended multiple times for multiple reasons AND breach of probation.
That’s another one being naughty and not nice.
The other driver, a 56 year old male was taken to the police station for breath testing and has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80. He’ll be bumming rides or catching the bus for the next 90 days. It won’t be in his own car though. That’s his car going for a ride to the impound for the next 7 days.
