Winter Weather Headed Our Way

THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – Get your snow shovel ready. The weather forecast for Thunder Bay is calling for up to eight centimetres of snow over the next twenty-four hours. The light snow is starting today, and will continue overnight and into Monday.

There are Snow Fall warnings in effect for the Pickle Lake/ Cat Lake region of Ontario. There up to twenty centimetres are expected.

Snowfall warning in effect for:

  • Pickle Lake – Cat Lake

Snowfall, with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm continues.

Significant snow continues to fall over the Pickle Lake region and more snow is on the way. Near 20 centimetres is expected by midnight and the weather observers report 11 centimetres have fallen to 2 pm EST.

Driving Conditions Demand Attention

With the snow coming, it is important to keep good winter driving skills at the forefront. That includes clearing the hood, windshield, roof, rear window, taillights and headlights clear of snow.

Ensure that the windshield washer fluid is full.

Additionally if the road conditions turn to less suitable for travel, first decide if that trip is really that important.

There have already been some fairly serious accidents on the highways around Thunder Bay
