NORTH BAY – SPORTS – The Lakehead Thunderwolves men’s basketball team won large on Friday, 92-49 over the Nipissing Lakers.

After opening up a 24-4 lead after the first quarter, Lakehead was able to keep the substitutions rolling of the bench, with everyone contributing to the team’s third win of the regular season.
Lakehead led at halftime 42-16.
Five Thunderwolves scored in double digits, led by Ashaunti Hogan, who went 5-of-10 from beyond the arc to finish with 17 points and 2 steals. Jamar Coke also filled it up from distance, hitting four three’s with 4 assists and 3 steals and a total 16 points.
Bacarius Dinkins controlled the glass, grabbing 13 rebounds and scoring 12 points. Dwayne Harvey scored 14 points with 5 boards and 5 assists.
Marcus Lewis responded for the Lakers, scoring 17 points with 5 rebounds.
Coach Manny Furtado said, “I was pleased with our effort this evening, and it was good to see some three’s start dropping for us – our next goal is preparing for a tough Laurentian team tomorrow. It’s going to take 40 minutes of disciplined execution.”
Lakehead men’s basketball will play the Laurentian Voyageurs tomorrow evening in Sudbury at 8pm.
