THUNDER BAY – Lest we forget! Each year, Remembrance Day takes on an increasingly special role in the lives of our citizens.

Remembrance Day takes on a special meaning as each year passes. The numbers of surviving veterans from World War Two and the Korean War are slowly declining as age takes its toll.

In Thunder Bay, large crowds at all the Remembrance Day Services were the rule. Thousands were out at Fort William Gardens. Hundreds at Waverley Park, and large numbers up on the mountain at Fort William First Nation.

This year, after the attack and murder of a Canadian Soldier standing at honour guard at the National War Memorial in Ottawa, Remembrance Day has taken on a special significance.

Once again, NetNewsLedger will bring you the Remembrance Day Services live from the Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay.

We remember, honour and salute all of the veterans.
