THUNDER BAY – For Thunder Bay, the real story of the election, and the story for NetNewsLedger was one of technology frustration. Massive traffic to NetNewsledger and other Internet news sites caused the sites to be so slow that getting the results to you our readers and viewers was difficult.

Our Internet Host Sencia Canada was on the situation quickly and tried everything possible.

For you, our readers and viewers, our apologies. We were gearing for the fastest and best coverage possible. We were frustrated in our efforts.

Perhaps the message to the City and to Tbaytel is that this really was the “Internet Election” and that the work that Tbaytel is doing to upgrade to an LTE network is critically important.

Last night Thunder Bay’s Information Super Highway was a ‘gravel road’ and the potholes were evident.

The technology in our community is increasingly important. The Internet has in three elections become a critical component for communications.
