INTERNATIONAL FALLS, Minn. – Whitney Scott scored the game-winning goal and went on to add two assists as the Thunder Bay midget A Queens defeated the Confederation College Thunderhawks 3-0 Sunday in the championship game of the Rainy River Community College CAN/AM Invitational in International Falls, Minn.
Scott notched the only tally her side would need 10 minutes into the contest.
She, along with Kristen Martin, then set-up Madeline Browsczuk early in the second period before feeding Allison Pages for an insurance marker later in the frame to wrap-up the scoring.
Cameron Ivall registered the shutout in the title game victory.
Meanwhile in the tournament skills competition held Saturday a pair of Queens’ players won their respective categories with Browczuk winning the fastest skater event while Montana Russo claimed the hardest shot category.
The next tourney for the midget A Queens will be Nov. 14-16 as they compete in the Con College Caribou Coach Classic in Thunder Bay before heading to Buffalo, N.Y. the following week for the Harbor Center Cup Nov. 21-23.
