Thunder Bay Firefighters Association Endorse Civic Candidates

Thunder Bay Fire RescueTHUNDER BAY – NEWS – The Thunder Bay Professional Fire Fighters Association (TBPFFA) have announced the association’s endorsed candidates for the Oct. 27 Municipal Election in Thunder Bay.

The Association circulated a survey to all registered candidates last month, gauging position on and support for public safety priorities and initiatives. Endorsements were selected by the TBPFFA Political Action Committee and the recommendation by our Executive Board was supported by the Membership.

The Association proudly endorses incumbent Keith Hobbs in the Mayoral Race. Councillor at Large candidates include Iain Angus, Larry Hebert, Rebecca Johnson, and Aldo Ruberto.

Ward Councillor endorsements include:

Current River – Andrew Foulds
McIntyre – Trevor Giertuga
Red River – Brian McKinnon
McKellar – Paul Pugh
Northwood – Mark Bentz
Neebing – Linda Rydholm
Westfort – Joe Virdiramo

“We support those who support public safety,” said Dennis Brescacin, President – Thunder Bay Professional Fire Fighters Association. “We’re not just thinking of who will best represent the objectives of our Members, but the best interest of the community as a whole. We believe our endorsements will maintain the level of service and their track record demonstrates their commitment to public safety.”
