Opening Minutes Lakehead vs Brandon – Sept 26 2014
THUNDER BAY – The Thunderwolves Men’s Basketball Team got off to a start as hot as Thunder Bay’s Saturday weather. After the first period, the T-Wolves were up by a score of 29-11.
Capitalizing on several shots from the field for three-pointers, the TWolves were looking like a powerhouse.
The Thunderwolves were on target with 4 of 8 three-pointers. Ashaunti Hogan was zoned in with six points in the first period.
Friday night the Brandon Bobcats were off to a far faster start.
Through the second period, the Thunderwolves are extending their dominance over the Bobcats.
At the end of the first half, the Thunderwolves have extended their lead to a 50-27 score. The Bobcats seemed to be coming on slightly toward the end of the half.
Second Half Action
At the start of the second half, the Bobcats were appearing to have re-grouped. Hitting a couple of baskets seemed to fire up the visitors, but the Thunderwolves were able to re-gain their focus quite quickly.
Toward the end of the third period, #4 Ashaunti Hogan was putting on a ball-handling exhibition that resulted in the Brandon defender left on the court.
Bacarius Dinkins (#24) has been holding court with 16 points through the third period.
At the end of the third period, the Thunderwolves were in command 76-46
Lakehead kept getting stronger as the game went on finally topping off with a win.
