Historic Golf Vote in Scotland

THUNDER BAY – GOLF – Change is apparently happening already in Scotland. The Old Course, St. Andrews which is the place where the game of golf started held a historic vote today. The results are already in. While millions around the world wait for the big referendum result, the vote at St. Andrews is over.

The Royal and Ancient Golf Club at St. Andrews is now no longer an exclusive club just for men.

The Royal and Ancient Golf Club has now became the latest major golf course voting to end years of male-only exclusivity Thursday when its members voted overwhelmingly in favour of inviting women to join. The vote is effective immediately.

While millions of Scots went to the polls, at St. Andrews, members voted to allow women to join the club.

The famous Augusta National still is a male only exclusive club.
