Thunder Bay Fire RescueTHUNDER BAY – NEWS – It was a busy night for Thunder Bay Fire Rescue. A duplex in Northwood was the scene of a fire that started at about 01:45AM EDT. There was heavy smoke at the scene when fire-fighters arrived. The smoke detectors had done their job and both families were able to get out of their homes safely.

One side of the duplex, located on Redwood Avenue was heavily damaged.

Thunder Bay Fire investigators are still on the scene investigating the fire to find the cause of the fire.

Keeping a working smoke detector on each floor of your home, and checking the batteries on a regular basis is important. It is also the law. Having an evacuation plan is a very important way to also make sure your family is safe.
