Homicide in Thunder Bay the Eighth Murder

THUNDER BAY – CRIME – Thunder Bay Police have confirmed that the body found on the bike path near Chapples today is the city’s latest homicide victim.

The Thunder Bay Police have confirmed that the suspicious death reported this morning has been deemed a homicide.

The body of a deceased adult male was located at approximately 7:30AM EDT on September 3th, 2014 by a citizen walking on the bike path located at the south end of Chapples Drive.

The identity of the male has not been confirmed.

A post mortem is scheduled to take place in Thunder Bay tomorrow to determine the cause of death and identity the victim.

The Chapples Park vicinity where the deceased was located continues to be held by police.

There continues to be limited access to Chapples Drive and the bike paths in the area.
No suspect(s) have been identified at this point in the investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the Chapples Park area last night or with any information about this incident is asked to contact the Thunder Bay Police at 684-1200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
