THUNDER BAY – Today, Thunder Bay-Atikokan MPP Bill Mauro did his part to raise awareness for Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) by taking part in the Ice Bucket Challenge.
“I’m happy to be here today to help raise awareness about ALS, or as some may know it Lou Gehrig’s disease,” said Mauro.
“Raising money to find a cure for ALS is a great cause. I’m happy that this issue is getting the attention that it deserves and that I can do my part to help this great campaign.”
MPP Mauro conducted the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge at Vickers Park around lunchtime when his brother James Mauro, with a grin as big as the ice bucket graciously dumped the tub of ice water over his head.
Being nominated by fellow Thunder Bay MPP, Michael Gravelle, MPP Mauro passed on the challenge afterwards to Randy Gotziaman of Power Centre Thunder Bay. Randy graciously accepted the challenge!
