WINNIPEG – Health – The Aboriginal Nurses Association of Canada (A.N.A.C.) is pleased to announce in conjunction with its 2014 National Forum: “Bridging Nursing Knowledge from Research to Practice: Honoring Indigenous Wisdom” October 4-5, 2014 in Winnipeg, Manitoba will offer two pre-conference workshops October 3, 2014.
Workshop One Full Day: Infectious Diseases and Public Health: Sorting Through the Evidence
The workshop is intended to help public health nurses become more comfortable with finding and using scientific evidence in decision making. Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss challenges associated with using evidence in the world of public health nursing practice.
Workshop Two Half Day: Advances in Inflammatory Arthritis Care
Early Aggressive treatment for patients suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis can lead to remission. The goal of the workshop is to give Nurses working in Aboriginal communities, knowledge in the triage and care of Rheumatic Diseases to improve patient outcomes.
This Forum presents an opportunity for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal nurses and participating individuals and organizations to come together to share, support, network, and link their knowledge across a wide variety of diverse health topics. Together, this can strengthen the bonds of service delivery, help promote healing and support policy changes to improve access to conventional and traditional healing practices that support Aboriginal people and communities.
