THUNDER BAY – CRIME BEAT – Thunder Bay Police report that a male suspect was taken into custody just after 11:30AM EDT this morning on Wharton Road. The Thunder Bay Police Service Emergency Task Unit took the individual into custody.

Police report that “The male appeared to have injuries prior to his arrest and has been taken to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for treatment”.

Wharton Road will remain closed until police have concluded their investigation.

It is not known how long this will take. This incident is being investigated in connection with a homicide which occurred at a residence in the 400 block of Donald Street West this morning.

The homicide, Thunder Bay’s sixth of the year puts the city, very sadly on track for holding onto the unwanted title of “Murder Capital of Canada”.
