REDWATER AB, – NEWS – RCMP in Alberta report, “One person is dead following a two vehicle collision on Highway 831 approximately 30km south of the Village of Boyle. At 9:44AM MDT, emergency crews were dispatched to the collision involving a pickup truck and a three tonne transport truck. The driver of the pick up truck was pronounced dead on scene.

It is currently believed that the southbound pickup truck crossed the centre line and struck the side of the transport truck. At the time of the collision the weather was good with clear visibility.

The cause of the collision has yet to be determined. Investigators do not believe alcohol was involved but have not ruled out a medical episode.

Traffic on Highway 831 near Township Road 612 is being diverted while the collision scene is cleared of debris. The delay is expected to last until approximately 2:00 PM.

The identity of the 74 year old male of Newbrook, AB will not be released.
