Welcoming Visitors to KI

KITCHENUHMAYKOOSIB FN – Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug are getting set for the annual Homecoming. This year as well, the community will be hosting a welcoming for visitors invited to live in the community for a week.

This annual event is designed to share the culture of the people, and to broaden understanding, and build friendships.

Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug (Gichi-namegosib ininiwag) also known as Big Trout Lake First Nation or KI for short, is a Cree community in Northwestern Ontario.

The initiative is designed to foster awareness. The KI Youth point to a lack of awareness as a root cause of racism.

Building bridges between communities and cultures is a way to foster positive results.
