THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Highland Dance Association are pleased to announce the success of local dancers at a National Highland Dance Competition. The Scot Dance Canada Championship Series 2014 was held July 2-6 in Richmond, BC.

McKayla Gaudreau (Morgan’s School of Highland Dancing) won two overall trophies and Victoria Richard (Experience Dance) was a member of the winning team for the International Broadsword Special Event. Complete results are as follows:

BEGINNER LEVEL:
McKayla Gaudreau (Morgan’s School of Highland Dancing)- Three 1sts, one 2nd, one 3rd, one 4th and 2 overall trophies

NOVICE LEVEL:
Nicola Wilberforce (Morgan’s School of Highland Dancing)- One 2nd, one 3rd and one 5th

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL:
Tiffany Miller (Morgans School of Highland Dancing)- One 4th
Heather Prus (Morgans School of Highland Dancing)- Two 4ths and two 6ths

RESTRICTED PREMIER LEVEL:
Tricia Matheson (Morgans School of Highland Dancing)- participated
Victoria Richard (Experience Dance)- One third, one 5th and two 6ths and first place in the International Broadsword Special Event

PREMIER LEVEL:
Erin Zysko (Morgans School of Highland Dancing)- participated
Maggie Wilberforce (Morgans School of Highland Dancing)- participated
