THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – The Thunder Bay Airport reported 39 millimetres within a 25 minute period as a heavy thunderstorm boomed through Thunder Bay this morning.

The Severe Thunderstorm warnings for Thunder Bay have ended as of 05:00AM EDT.

That has not ended the weather issues across the region.

Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for:

  • Marathon – Schreiber
  • Wawa – Pukaskwa Park

Rainfall warning in effect for:

  • Atikokan – Shebandowan – Quetico Park
  • Upsala – Raith
  • Dryden – Vermilion Bay
  • Kenora – Rainy River
  • Fort Frances – Emo – Rainy River
  • Seine River Village – Mine Centre

Rainfall – overnight to morning.

Rain and isolated thunderstorms continue to affect portions of northwestern Ontario this morning. Total rainfall amounts of near 50 millimetres are possible locally before the rain tapers off later this morning.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
