Hot Rounds of Golf at PGA TOUR Canada Event
THUNDER BAY – PGA TOUR Canada professionals are enjoying near perfect conditions at the Staal Foundation Open at the Whitewater Golf Club in Thunder Bay. In first round action, Brandon Harkins from Scottsdale Arizona has shot a blistering 64, eight under and taking the clubhouse lead.
Harkins shot four birdies on the front nine, and got things wound up for a great round of golf. The score of 64 has tied the Whitewater Course record. Officially it is a new course record.
Conditions at Whitewater are near perfect with clear skies, warm temperatures and almost no breeze.
Brandon was in the 22nd group of the first round teeing off at 8:20AM this morning along with Phillip Francis of Scottsdale, AZ and Jamison Sindelar of Horseheads, NY.
Born July 13, 1986 in Lafayette, California, he attended California State University and turned pro in 2010. Highest finish for this season is T13.
Harkins birdied 8 holes and pared the remaining holes for the record setting round.
