Thunder Bay Police Investigate Second Hotel Robbery

Thunder Bay PoliceTHUNDER BAY – The second robbery at a hotel in Thunder Bay has Police on the look for the suspect. Thunder Bay Police are investigating the hotel robbery that occurred just before midnight on July 14, 2014.

A lone male armed with a knife and a can of what is described as “bear spray” entered the Nor’ Wester Resort Hotel and demanded money from the hotel clerk and threatened to spray him. The male then jumped over the counter and took money from the cash drawers before exiting the hotel. The employee was able to run to safety and was not injured in this incident.

Police are looking for the individual involved in this incident. He is described as being a Caucasian male approximately 5’8” to 5’10” tall with an average build. He was wearing a black hoodie with large blue letters, a black toque, sunglasses and gloves.

Thunder Bay Police will be working with local hotels. Zone officers will be providing information for the safety of the employees as well as increased patrols in the areas will be assigned to officers.
