THUNDER BAY – SPORTS – The Thunder Bay Border Cats bounced back tonight. The Border Cats ended their nine game losing streak in dramatic fashion Sunday outslugging the Alexandria Blue Anchors 13-11 at Tbaytel Park.
Down 11-9, the Cats scored five runs in the bottom of the 9th inning to earn a split in the two-game series.
Robb Paller capped the rally by blasting a walk-off grand slam homer over the right-centre field fence.. The outfielder from Columbia University leads the team with six home runs.
Paller’s big blast made a winner out of relief pitcher Ben Allison, who picked his third win of the season. The Cats get a much needed day off Monday before opening a two-game series in Eau Claire Tuesday night against the Express.
Thunder Bay returns home for a four-game home stand beginning Thursday against the Mankato MoonDogs at 7:05PM.
