Full Moon Tonight Closer to Earth
THUNDER BAY – If the skies are clear tonight, the full moon will be a “Super Moon”. The moon will be closer to earth than usual.
There will be “Super Moons” each month this summer and into the fall.
The moon, especially the full moon impacts earth, tides should be higher, and the impact on many people emotionally is always considered powerful. Perhaps it is simply lore, or maybe it is under the light of a full moon people through history could be out at night.
Psychologists have found, despite all the folklore, there is no strong evidence backing up the idea that a full moon has serious effects on human behavior around the time of a full moon.
Environment Canada isn’t holding out much hope that Thunder Bay will get to see this full “Super Moon” tonight. The forecast is calling for mainly cloudy skies with a sixty per cent chance of showers overnight with risk of a thunderstorm. Fog patches will develop after midnight.
