OLG Thunder Bay Casino Draws Deal on Agreement
THUNDER BAY – NEWS – The Thunder Bay Casino has dodged a strike/lockout. The casino workers ratified a new agreement in a vote Thursday that settle the labour issues with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
Eighty-five per cent of members of the United Steelworkers Union, Local 1-2010 voted to accept the deal.
There were as many as one-hundred and eighty employees eligible to vote Thursday on the tentative agreement.
The ratification of the agreement averts what likely would have been a lock-out that would have closed the casino this weekend.
