Assault Victim Remains in Critical Condition

THUNDER BAY – CRIME BEAT – Thunder Bay Police are providing additional details on an assault that happened on Wednesday in the downtown Fort William Business district. Police report that a fifty-two-year old Thunder Bay man remains in critical condition in the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre following an assault at the corner of May and Donald Streets on July 1, 2014.

Police responded to the scene just after 2:30AM EDT on Tuesday morning following a 911 call made to police by a passerby.

There were reportedly four individuals involved in the incident. Three males and one female all who fled the scene before police units arrived.

Thunder Bay Police are looking for four suspects:

•Three Native Canadian males. One thin and two heavier set.
•A Native Canadian female approximately 5’4” tall

The Criminal Investigations Branch would like to speak with a Good Samaritan who was able to provide assistance to the victim by dragging him off the street onto the sidewalk.

This individual did not stay to speak to police.

At the time of the incident, a few vehicles drove by the scene. Investigators would like those individuals to come forward. They may be able to assist in the investigation.

This is the third serious assault in the downtown Fort William area in recent weeks.
