Rio de Janeiro – Thousands of jubilant fans poured out of Brazil’s Mineirao stadium on Saturday (June 28) right after a dramatic match that saw Chile lose on penalties.
It was a sea of yellow and green as fans celebrated Brazil’s victory against underdogs Chile.
Brazil goalkeeper Julio Cesar kept the hosts’ hopes of World Cup glory alive, saving two spot-kicks in a shootout against Chile to send them into the last eight 3-2 on penalties following a pulsating 1-1 draw after extra time.
Shouting “adeus, Chile!” and “the championship is back,” the thousands of fans celebrated their team’s victory outside the stadium in Belo Horizonte.
