THUNDER BAY – The price of a litre of regular gasoline in Thunder Bay is $1.449 today. That compares to prices around the region including Dryden where that same litre will set you back $1.329.

The difference of twelve cents per litre is stark. Kenora is also averaging $1.329 per litre of regular gas.

In Thunder Bay the price is lower, $1.149 on Fort William First Nation.

The price of gasoline is climbing across Canada and the finger is being pointed at world conditions, including unrest in Iraq, and uncertainty on the price of a barrel of oil.

The price for a barrel of oil is currently just over $106/barrel. Some experts are predicting that by the end of the year, a barrel of oil could hit over $120 per barrel.

That will put increased pressure on the price of a litre of gas at the pumps.
